Running a business is one of the bravest things a person can do. And one of the loneliest.
Nobody tells you about the 2am moments when you’re staring at the ceiling wondering if you made the right call. The days you’re holding it together for your team while quietly falling apart on the inside. The times you smile and say “yeah, things are great” when really you’re just trying to make payroll. The milestones you missed, the relationships it cost you, and the version of yourself you quietly left behind along the way.
But nobody tells you about the other stuff either. The person you became because you refused to quit. The fire in your belly that still shows up every single morning. The moments you realise you’re building something bigger than yourself. The growth that only comes from doing something most people don’t have the guts to try.
I’ve been there. Bought the ticket, sat in the room, took notes, and genuinely believed I was learning from someone who had done the thing. Built the business. Lived the life. Had the systems.
Then I looked them up. And it wasn’t quite what they said it was. The baller life? Borrowed. The systems? Theoretical. The achievements? Let’s just say the version they sold didn’t survive a simple Google search.
I felt like an idiot. But honestly, I was just someone who wanted real answers from real people.
That’s why this podcast exists.
The Real Biz Life Chronicles is your place. Where real business owners show up as they actually are, not as they think they should be. Where we talk about the wins and the wreckage, the wrong calls, the near misses, and what kept them going. Where you’ll walk away feeling less alone and more equipped to take on whatever is coming next.
I’m Tracy Fryer, your host and founder of Design Studio Perth. I’ve spent years working with business owners on their brand and marketing, and I know the gap between what people say publicly and what’s actually happening behind the scenes. This podcast slams the door in the face of that gap.
I started this podcast in Nov ’23 to showcase some of the legends I’ve met on my business journey. I was also done with all the superficial BS I saw on social media about running a business. My intention is simple. That this podcast shares wisdom on both life and business, encourages you on the tough days, and reminds you to celebrate the wins. Life is short.
This isn’t a podcast where just anyone gets a seat at the table. Every guest is hand-picked, every conversation is invite-only, and nothing is edited out. These are people I’ve personally vouched for, because their story is worth your time.
Season 3 is in production and the conversations are better than ever! Go check out our brand new home at therealbizlifechronicles.com and if it resonates, share it with a fellow business owner who needs to know they’re not alone.
Raw. Honest. Unedited. Let’s go.
